The Owl, the Mouse and the Mermaid.

Once there was an owl high in the tree at night time, watching the movements and sounds go by below.
A mouse came scurrying by and the owl thought the mouse would be fun prey to eat.  It silently, swooped down from it's high perch and chased the mouse through the forest.  Up and over, in and out through the trees.  Until the mouse came to a stop by a huge lake.
The two creatures stopped because there in the water was a head of hair.  The  head rose up until they saw a face.  The person was a mermaid.  The mermaid rose her arm so the owl could come sit on it.  The owl landed on her arm like a branch, it stepped along her arm and smooched check to check with the mermaid.
She picked the mouse up into her other hand.
She kissed the two then let the mouse go to run along.  The owl flew up and up back to it's branch in the trees.
Then she turned and went splash back into the water.  Where the moon was reflecting.
