To Relax an Over Exhausted Child to Sleep

  Breathe...
  Deep long and slow...

While massaging the child's back, run your hands down the long length of body. Breathe yourself, deep and slow relaxing , so the child feels your breath and currents and follows your breathe into a deep restful slumber.  (you may sing if you prefer or) Continue saying ...

Imagine yourself on the top of a hill.  The wind is blowing through your hair, you breathe in the breath of the wind, filling you with life.  Life  is new and refreshing.
Sprays of water hit you from the ocean.   Spraying you clean and refreshing.  Cleansing all your disturbances and tensions.  Like a fresh new born babe, you have no fear you are clear and alive.
Move behind you and smell the trees and life that surround you, smell the air sending you the tastes of the different life forms.
Turn to the trees and follow through to the grass land.  Lye down in the grass.  Smell the earth beneath you, smell the fresh, green grass.  Here you are sheltered from the wind.  You feel the sun's warmth fill you through to your bones, your skin.  Feed on the sun like food as the plants do.  Full yourself with light.  Feel warm.  Feel yourself that is light and warm feel your self that is earth and alive.
Breathe the air that we share.  Breath deep through to your core.
Breathe out strength and light , so that every one who breathes in, breathes your breath of strength and light, of peace and harmony.  Relax in the earth in the sun you are one, part light, part earth, part fluid, part breath, part of all that breathes and drinks and grows; there is no loneliness when you are one in yourself.
You are the trees and the streams, the clouds and the soil, the deer and the bear... hug yourself and feel no fear, for you cannot hurt yourself.  You can only experience yourself.  Relax and be at home with yourself, journey into yourself.
When you waken from your self you will feel refreshed and alive to a new day.  So give yourself the rest, strength and clarity to enjoy yourself.

Continue massaging and breathing deep and slowly as your child lets go of active energies and falls into a restful enjoyable slumber.  Depending on the child you may continue the journey longer with adventures you encounter in the forests, caves, sky, with wood folk or journey through the night and be one with stars and planets and night creatures, all the time relaxing your energy so the child is eased and soothed into a restful sleep.
Blessed Be
