Fairy Magick

Lying on a silky soft beach of white sand three fairies faced up at a crystal clear, blue sky. The golden sun warmed their bodies, as the waves lapped the silky sand in a rhythmical motion. The fairies breathed in the serene atmosphere of this little patch of paradise. It had been a long tiresome flight, far from their home.
These three little fairies were on a quest to find 7 magickal stones for their mother.
The eldest Fairy Naamah remarked "What a wonderfully magickal place. This must be the sacred healing cove mother told us about".
"Well I recon its time to move on." Replied Ishara, the middle fairy.
Aricia was the youngest of the three sisters. She held the precious bag of special rocks they were looking for. Already they had 3 of the seven. A black tourmaline, tiger's eye and a yellow Calicite.
"It's not far to the mountain cave" Naamah said "Just follow me"
Up and away over the tree tops the girls headed due north to a huge hard looking rock. At the very top was a tiny hole. "How are going to get down their?" asked Ishara. Naamah got her wand from the pocket of her skirt, with the thought of her mind she drew a circle around the girls and zapped them all to flies.
"This should help us through" Naamah went through first with the sister's zzzzing behind. They flew into a massive cave, dark and damp. Bats hung upside down snoozing through the day time. The girls made their way to the bottom of a guano covered floor where Naamah changed them back to fairies.
"This stinks" Ishara said holding her breath. From Ishara's pocket she pulled out flicker (the name she called her wand) and flick her wand was a light. "There must be another entrance to this cave" Ishara said "look at all these long branches, perfect. Sisters find yourselves a long stick each" Naamah found a long smooth stick, While Aricia found a thin twisted branch. "Fire Flick!" Ishara said as she pointed her wand to the end of each stick creating a flame ever burning. Now each girl had a flame to make more light in the cave. They saw tunnel entrances all around them. Ishara pointed her wand down one of the entrances and the 2 others followed. They found themselves walking through a tunnel that was getting narrower and narrower, till they were crawling on all fours.
"Ow!" snaped Ishara "Watch were you point that flame" she growled back to her sister.
"Sorry, I think this can't be right, we have to crawl back"
"No, no! I see an opening; there is a sparkly light ahead."
"Well this won't do" And with her wand Naamah changed them all to rats. Scurrying along the passage the girls found themselves in a wonderful cave; circled all around them were crystals and gems of all colours. The girls were energized with light.
"Look there is Rose Quartz" Naamah cried delighted "and here is Amethyst and Aquamarine".
"Can you see a clear Quartz Crystal?" Naamah asked
"There at the top above us" Ishara pointed.
"Perfect!" Naamah said. "Now remember no one can take any more. We only pick what we need. Remember what mum said!" Ishara found a lovely purple amethyst she was rolling in her hand. "Put it down!" Naamah demanded.
"But it called to me. It wants to come with me." Ishara protested.
"Sorry Ishara, we were asked not to take more then what we came for. Leave it here and talk to mom about it" Ishara reluctantly put the amethyst down. Naamah change them all to bats and they flew out the way they came in.
"Now we only need gold" Aricia said "I'm getting hungry, I smell berries down their through the trees follow me" As they flew their wings and bodies transformed back to fairies. Amid the maze of woody trees Aricia lead them to a big bush of black berries. "Yum!" Aricia and her sisters picked to their delight. There was a rustling in the brambles and a big brown bear head appeared; Growwwwwwling at the girls. "What you won't share you big meany there's enough for us all" Aricia pointed her wand at the bear. Humph the bear sat back down on its behind and shared with the wee fairy folk. After all teeny tinies can't eat a whole bush. Where the fairies ate Aricia waved her wand over the bush to grow more and thanked the berry mother for the very berry delight.
"Where do we find gold?" asked Aricia.
  "In a river" replied Naamah
"Not all rivers have gold though" Ishara said
"True" Naamah said "but we can hear one near by so let's check it out"
At the river Aricia bobbed up and down chanting "Change me to a fish, change me to a fish"
"As you will it so it is" Naamah pointed her wand at Aricia now a fish.
"Gold is hard to find" Naamah said "you have to move the rocks and look hard"
With her mouth Aricia moved rocks; swimming round flapping her tail to motor herself along. She flapped her tail in the face of another fish who almost bit if off.
"Watch what your doing!" Naamah laughed from above the water.
Beneath a big pile of rocks Aricia struck gold! They had to find 4 similar sized gold rocks so it took a good deal of time searching.
When at last they were done with the rock hunt the girls happily flew home to their parents in a little oak tree home; high in the top most branches.
The girl's mother hugged them all with pleasure, telling Ishara if the amethyst called to her in her dreams she would be allowed to take the rock that called to her in the cave.
The girls followed their mother to a little rock just perfect for fairies. This ordinary rock was a holy place, they named the temple. Within the temple their father lay on the open floor in the center of the circled cave. Each girl took a gold rock from their mothers hand and placed them to the four quadrants that pointed to the North, East, South and West. Each girl sat on the circumference of a circle drawn in the earth beneath. Sitting with straight spines each girl let her breath release anxiety and tensions. They watched while their mother placed each stone on the 7 major energy points (named chakras) along their father's body. One for his crown, his third eye, between his eyebrows, his throat, his heart, his solar plexus, one 3 fingers below his belly button, and lastly one between his legs. As the last stone was placed the room filled with a magnificent rainbow of colours. Through each chakra shone a spectrum of the rainbow starting with red from the root chakra at the base of the spine; up to orange from the belly, to yellow at the center, to green from the heart, to blue from the throat, to indigo out of the third eye and violet beaming out of the top of their fathers head. The colours danced and shone round the sacred circle, each girl open her chakras emanating a rainbow of colours out through themselves. The colours merged and danced with one another spiraling round and round in the cave, spiraling up like a cone shape to the roof of the cave and exploding out round the whole planet. Colours touched every form on the planet. From the plants to all creatures big and small, to the water in its depths up to the sky and its atmosphere. The whole planet was uplifted with light. A little more sensitive to energies that dwell in all things, a little more fearless of change and nature, a little more creative in manifesting light laughter, a little more healed from pains and dis-ease. A little more together in the unity of the cosmos, back on track to live a life worth living and work worth doing.
It took a lot of energy to raise the energy and move it round the planet but it was uplifting and felt warmly wonderful. As the cone of power started to die down, the energy of the circle started to die down, as the circle of fairies allowed the energy to come down into them through them, they focused it to the earth. To be a little more healed a little more lighter and a little more uplifted. When the fairies were themselves again they looked at their father who slowly opened his eyes and smiled.
  They slept well that night.

The fairies had a cousin, named Heather, they had never seen, for she lived far away. She lived where the sun traveled north across the midday sky. It would be a very long journey from the northern hemisphere to visit their cousin in the southern hemisphere.
But determined they were. They had not mastered the art of moving through space at the speed of light. So Neemah transformed themselves into Ramona fish. These fish have a suction at the top of their heads that they use to attachment themselves to turtles, sharks, whales, and boats. So merrily the girls hitch-hiked their way down to the land of the long while cloud. Named New Zealand.
They asked directions from different fish to find the Island Waiheke where their cousin lived. And used a map to find the address.
Heather was not of the magick world, she was a human child. On the night the girls flew in through Heathers window and explained they were her cousins. You can imagine the shock and surprise Heather felt. Her cousins were fairies? That was a little unreal to believe. You had to see it to believe it.
All four girls were enchanted to meet at last. Heather was over whelmed.
Neemah explained that everyone has their own inner power. You just have to look within to find it. Neemah was a master in shape shifting, but that didn't mean that was the only magick she new, she new a little of the plant world and its healing properties and how to listen to the wind.
Ishara was a fire fairy for she liked to play with fire, she had to learn well the principles of fire magick, and know well the dangers if you didn't work the magick right. She was becoming a master over fire; but she also new the water world and could talk to the water kingdom and work the magick of water just as easily as fire.
Aricia being the youngest was still learning her magick, she could talk to plants and animals. So if you were hungry she could easily find the right sorts of plants to suit your needs.
Heather was over whelmed by her fairy cousins. She asked ever so sweetly "How does one become a fairy?"
Naamah explained "We open the door for you, but for you to learn your fairy power is work for you to learn"
"Can you make me a fairy?" asked Heather
"Well like I said" Naamah said "we can only open doors for you"
"What kinda fairy do you think I can be?" asked Heather
"Well" Naamah said "what can you do, what are your interests?"
Heather replied "Well I like the water world like Ishara and I love music, I would love to play like my dad, and enchant a stadium of listeners to my sounds"
Naamah laughed "Well if you really want we can open the doors to the fairy world for you, but from their your on your own. We will stay close by you until you are done"
  "OK" said Heather intrigued.
  "Are your ready?" Ishara asked
  "Yes" replied Heather.
The three sisters held the handles of their wands and the end of another wand. Forming a circle round Heather they chanted. "Fairy magick, round and round, bestow this girl her magick now" The girls continued the chant round and round. They watched as heather, standing like a tree with arms at side, closed her eyes and went within.
Heather could feel herself growing smaller or was it that she was traveling through a cone shape tunnel spiraling her to a different place. She opened her eyes. She wasn't in her bedroom; she was in forest of humongous sized trees. A deer walked past at a monstrous size. Heather floated up to its head, she though she was growing but realized she had wings on her back and was flying. Then a rush of remembrance, it seemed, came flooding into her. She was a fairy and her home was just through those trees. She was in a time when she was a fairy, she remembered her parents and where they lived, she remembered her friends and the places they would play and explore. She flew past her mother's tree home, knowing her mother was probably painting the flowers and sky, as art and painting with colours was her special power. She flew on to her father's home; she could hear the hum of music playing through the trees. The sounds got louder as she reached her Dads home. He was sitting strumming his guitar. "Will you teach me the power of music?" Heather asked. Her dad replied "I have not mastered that, you will have to go to old angelic over the hill, he may teach you" So Heather left her dad to strum his guitar and flew over the hill to old angelic. Angelic was one of the oldest fairies; He was teaching the baby birds to sing in harmony with the rising sun as Heather arrived.
Old angelic was pleased to take Heather on as a student. He taught Heather all she needed to know about the power of sound. She learnt to sing with the trees, and play the notes of the wind. She learnt to sooth the day creatures to sleep at night and sing the songs of the seasons. She learnt the power to uplift someone in spirit and heal the soul with song.
When Heather mastered all she needed to know about the magick of sound, and learnt to use her magick wisely she was then awakened back into the circle in her bedroom back on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. Her cousins stared at this new hovering fairy. "Wow!" Heather said. "How long was I away?"
"Not long" Neemah said "May be an hour"
"It felt like a life time" Heather said
"It was" Neemah replied "So what magick do you hold?"
"What is your fairy name?" asked Ishara
Heather replied "My name is Melody. I have the power of sound. Although it's not really a power it's more a knowing. And what to do with that knowing."
The cousins felt proud of Heather to take the journey to find her power and who she was. They all hugged each other.
The girls flew around exploring a whole new world, for wee magick folk.
But that's another story.
