Natural Remedies and Herbs

ALOE - A cactus-type plant. The inside is jelly-like and excellent for burns of any type. Apply the jelly directly to the skin; it is very soothing, gives fast relief, and helps healing.

AVOCADO FACIAL - The oils from this fruit are excellent for the skin. apply a small amount of mashed avocado to the face, and wash off after 5 minutes. Leaves skin soft.

CAYENNE AND ORANGE JUICE - A drink made of 1 c warm orange juice and 1/8 teaspoon cayenne. Good for colds; breaks up mucus.

CLAY AND WHEAT GRASS - Good for skin irritations. Blend a handful of wheat grass with 1/4 c of water. Mix this liquid with herbal clay - enough to make a paste. Itıs also good for insect bites or stings.

GARLIC - Good for colds and sore throats. Peel and dice fine, then swallow; or suck on a whole peel clove.

GOLDEN SEAL POWDER - Apply to cuts as a paste or powder to stop bleeding. Good on skin rashes. Taken internally to cleanse body.

LAVENDER OIL - excellent for taking the sting out of burns, and healing wounds, a relaxing agent to put a few drops in the bath or burn in an oil burner.

NETTLE TEA - Good for hair rinse; treats dandruff and dryness.

ORANGE - For hiccups, suck on a quarter of an orange.

PEPPERMINT TEA - Good for upset stomach and indigestion.

POTATO POULTICE - Aids in drawing out poisons. Grate a small portion of a peeled potato; apply to infection.

SENNA TEA - Good as a laxative.

SLIPPERY ELM POWDER - The inner bark from an elm tree. Good for soothing and coating upset stomachs. Can also be used as a thickening agent in cooking. Good in ice cream, hot drinks, and whips. Also gives an added touch to smoothies.

TEA TREE OIL - Used as a disinfectant on the skin keeps bugs away, on wounds helps heal and cleanse.

WHEAT GERM OIL - Good as a liniment for dry skin. Also good for skin burns.

WINTERGREEN - Good for sore muscles and strains.
