Baby Tarantula's

On December 1st, 2002 a sac of Tarantula eggs were laid by a Mexican Red Tarantula at a local Pet supply store.  I was lucky enough to be chosen to look after these babies yet to be hatched, as the mother would have eaten them.  The following is a record of their development.

March 10, 2003.    We opened the sac.  and from the pictures below you can see they appear to have dried out.  We know in late December there was a cold snap and at that point they stopped vibrating when we would hold them.

Conclusion:    From my limited uninformed opinion I would next time keep the tank moist.. to what extent I have no idea.. but they need some.  I would also keep the tank heated from the start.  I have no idea how hot ...

The questions to find answers to are.  the eggs can live between what temp.  And what is the humidity level that the eggs should ideally be kept at.
