Consume:  to destroy, as by fire, to use up or waste, to eat or drink up, devour
Consumer: one that consumes, one who buys good or services for personal needs only rather than to produce other goods.
Consumerism: a movement for protecting the consumer against defective products, and advertising,  misleading business practices, etc.
